What is dip tank / immersion cleaning?
Dip tank cleaning immerses parts in a heated cleaning solution and relies on chemistry, temperature and time rather than mechanical force. It reaches every wetted surface including blind features, tolerates foaming cleaners, and is the lowest-capital way to clean complex or heavily soiled parts.
Also called: soak cleaning, immersion cleaning
With no jets and no ultrasound, the whole burden falls on chemistry and dwell. That makes dip tanks slower, but also completely geometry-independent: if solution reaches a surface, that surface is being cleaned.
Simple agitation transforms performance. Basket oscillation, a recirculation pump or air sparging replaces the boundary layer of saturated solution at the part surface with fresh chemistry, often halving cycle time for very little cost.
Bath management is the weak point. Without a skimmer, oil accumulates on the surface and re-coats every part on withdrawal — which is why the single highest-return upgrade to most soak tanks is a surface skimmer, not a stronger cleaner.
