What is foam profile?
A cleaner's foam profile is how much it foams at working temperature and agitation. It is a hard equipment constraint, not a preference: a high-foam cleaner in a spray washer aerates the pump and destroys wash pressure, and in an ultrasonic bath it kills cavitation entirely.
Foam is created by mechanical energy and stabilised by surfactants. A spray washer's nozzles and a returning cascade both inject enormous amounts of air, so a spray cleaner must be formulated to collapse foam as fast as the machine creates it.
Soak and dip tanks have almost no mechanical energy, so they tolerate — and sometimes benefit from — a foaming cleaner, since a foam blanket reduces heat loss and evaporation from the surface.
Ultrasonics are the strict case: foam bubbles cushion cavitation implosions, so the bath falls silent and cleaning stops. Only low-foam chemistry belongs in an ultrasonic tank. Power Clean LF is formulated for exactly the spray and ultrasonic cases.
