What is neutral ph cleaner?
A neutral pH cleaner works between roughly pH 7 and 9, relying on surfactants and mild builders rather than caustic alkalinity. It is the correct chemistry for aluminium, zinc, brass, copper and mixed-metal baskets, because it removes oil without etching the metal or triggering white rust.

Removing the alkalinity removes the saponification route, so a neutral cleaner has to do more work with surfactants and solvency. Good ones clean aluminium castings, brass bushings and copper assemblies as effectively as an alkaline product does steel — but they will not strip baked carbon or forging scale.
The payoff is surface integrity. Aluminium comes out of a neutral bath bright rather than dull-etched, brass keeps its colour instead of going pink from selective zinc leaching, and there is no freshly-activated surface waiting to bloom.
