What is safety solvent?
A safety solvent is a non-chlorinated, high-flash-point solvent cleaner used where water cannot be — live electrical equipment, assembled machinery, and field maintenance. It cleans by dissolution and evaporates without residue, but it is not a substitute for a full aqueous wash line.
The defining properties are a high flash point, so it is not readily ignitable in normal use, and the absence of chlorinated chemistry, so it carries none of TCE's carcinogenic or regulatory burden.
It fills the gaps aqueous cleaning genuinely cannot: motors and switchgear that must not be wetted, assembled gearboxes that cannot be dismantled for a wash, and maintenance work where there is no tank, no heat and no rinse available.
It is a maintenance and rework tool rather than a production-cleaning tool. Volume cleaning of components remains far cheaper and safer in an aqueous bath.
